Large Language Models are AI systems trained on vast amounts of text to understand and generate human-like language for various tasks.
Such as like writing articles, answering questions, translating languages, summarizing text, generating code, and creating conversational chatbots.
The key difference between Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI is their scope:
- Large Language Models (LLMs) are a specific type of AI model focused on understanding and generating human-like text. They are trained on massive amounts of text data. Think of them as experts in language.
- Generative AI is a broader category of AI that can generate various types of new content, not just text. This includes images, audio, video, code, and more. LLMs are one kind of model that falls under the umbrella of Generative AI.
All LLMs are Generative AI because they generate new text. However, not all Generative AI are LLMs because they might generate other kinds of content besides text.
